Exploring scalable carbon removal in agriculture through soil restoration, innovative practices, and cross-sector collaboration to advance food security and climate action.
Hosted by the Climate High-Level Champions in partnership with Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, this session will showcase cutting-edge approaches such as soil carbon restoration, biochar, and remineralization. These practices not only have the potential to sequester billions of tonnes of CO₂e by 2050 but also improve yields, resilience, and economic opportunities for farmers. Participants will gain insights into how these solutions are being implemented in regions with high potential, including Brazil, India, and Kenya.
Through dynamic panels and interactive discussions, the event will highlight strategies for integrating carbon removal into agricultural value chains, unlocking investment, and building supportive policy environments. Attendees will also learn from initiatives in New York State, where research, farmer engagement, and innovative partnerships are driving ambitious local carbon farming programs aligned with 2050 net-zero targets.
This session offers a unique opportunity to connect with global leaders, discover practical solutions, and be part of scaling transformative agricultural practices that deliver both climate and social impact.
