Food Systems Transformation Toolkit: giving ambitious governments the tools they need

The toolkit brings together 15 ready-to-deploy, tested tools from the 12 initiatives under the COP30 Presidency Plan to Accelerate food systems transformation. It gives ambitious countries a single menu of proven options in six areas:

  • Diagnostic tools

  • Data, monitoring and evaluation

  • Modelling

  • Communications and advocacy

  • Financing with technical assistance

  • Cross-government coordination

Each tool has evidence of use at national level and a named contact for country support.

How this solutions relates to the action agenda

Axis: 3. Transforming Agriculture and Food Systems

Key Objective: 9. More resilient, adaptive, and sustainable food systems

Why it matters

Many countries have now put food systems into their national climate plans, and the focus is shifting to delivery. Useful tools already exist to support that work, but they are spread across many organisations and can be hard to find. This toolkit brings together a selection of them, developed by more than 30 partner organisations and each already used in at least one country. It offers governments a starting point for choosing the support that fits their own priorities and context. Taken together, these tools, initiatives, and support mechanisms provide a menu of options for ambitious countries seeking to accelerate their food systems transformation journey.
