Accelerating zero and low emission technologies in hard-to-abate sectors

Sustainable and multimodal infrastructure for low-emission transport

Integrated transport systems combine zero-emission vehicles such as buses, trains, and e-bikes with charging infrastructure, modal shift policies, and system integration to create seamless, sustainable mobility networks that reduce private car dependency and enable efficient freight movement.

How this solution relates to the action agenda

Axis: Transitioning Energy, Industry, Transport

Key Objective: Accelerating zero and low emission technologies in hard-to-abate sectors

Why it matters

Transport accounts for about 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Increasing the use of active and public transport helps reduce urban emissions, while ensuring equitable access to jobs and services and improving air quality for city populations.
