Race to Zero Partners rally non-State actors – including companies, cities, regions, financial, educational, and healthcare institutions – to take rigorous and immediate action that contributes to halving global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer, net zero world.

Race to Zero has 26 Partners and 35 Accelerators that collectively unite more than 15,700 members – the largest ever alliance working to halve global emissions by 2030 in line with the Paris Agreement, with transparent action plans and near-term targets.

All members are working towards robust science-aligned criteria on their transition to net zero. Partner initiatives are responsible for working with their members on their transition in a robust and transparent way. Become part of a leading community taking urgent climate action now.

How to get involved with Race to Zero

Prepare for the Race

Prepare for the Race

A commitment signals your readiness to begin taking credible net zero action in line with the Paris Agreement. But like any Race, preparation and training is needed. Race to Zero works with leading partners to help ensure non-State actors understand their carbon footprint, emission hotspots, and the necessary resourcing and skills to get started.

Make a Pledge

Make a Pledge

Once an entity has their emissions profile, they are then able to join the Race by pledging through a Race to Zero Partner initiative. This pledge requires an entity to commit at the head of organization level to reach net zero by 2050, and set an interim target for 2030.

Pledging is just the beginning. Once in the Race, members find the appropriate pathway to begin reducing emissions at speed and scale while creating an environment that supports climate action both within and outside their organization. View our many resources below to get started acting today.

In its fifth year, the Race to Zero (RtZ) campaign continued to evolve, mobilizing over 15,700 members across more than 150 countries as of 2024. Underpinned by the “5 Ps” framework (Pledge, Plan, Proceed, Publish and Persuade), the campaign continues to support non-Party stakeholders in transforming net zero commitments into measurable climate action. Steady growth has been seen across actor types (businesses, cities, financial institutions, healthcare providers and universities), with increasing representation from emerging regions, particularly the Asia–Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
