A significant push is required to meaningfully improve the scale, quality and pace of investment and finance for projects supporting climate action globally.

Whilst average annual climate finance flows almost doubled to USD 1.3 trillion in 2022, this still only represents 1 per cent of global Gross Domestic Product; and barely USD 30 billion, just 2 per cent of the total, flowed to developing countries.

Simply not enough finance is getting to the people and places that need it most – invariably, vulnerable communities across the global south – the same communities which have the potential to generate a disproportionately positive impact on global climate objectives

How It WorksMobilizing Climate Capital

The Regional Platform for Climate Projects (RPCP), launched by Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin under the leadership of the High-Level Champions, is a strategic initiative designed to mobilize capital for climate ventures and projects across developing countries and emerging markets.

RPCP serves as a dynamic connector. It links investors, accelerators, financial instruments, and high-impact projects and curates a robust pipeline, fostering collaboration through targeted events, and aligning key ecosystem players. The platform is focused on unlocking climate finance to drive scalable, actionable solutions that advance both mitigation and adaptation efforts on the road to COP30 and beyond.

MatchmakingWhy we are matchmaking projects and financiers

Advancing climate project pipelines is essential to mobilizing capital, requiring more effective ecosystems and collaboration among policymakers, financiers, project developers, and technical assistance providers.

RPCP supports this effort by connecting ventures in its pipeline to a global network of financiers, showcasing them at high-impact events throughout the year and in official publications.
