Offshore wind alone has the potential to provide more than enough energy to power the world four times over. Installations can be located close to heavily populated coastal cities that have little open land available and is a less costly and more reliable energy source than imported fossil fuels for many island nations and remote coastal communities.

The Global Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA), launched at COP27, was established as a driving force for the adoption of offshore wind globally – with a focus on developing countries.
